The short version:Audit your own sites, or sites you have permission to audit. Don’t abuse the service. We’ll do our best to keep things running but we can’t promise it’ll rank you on Google.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account, running an audit, or otherwise using the WebsiteAuditTools service (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
These Terms form a binding agreement between you and WebsiteAuditTools (“we,” “us,” “our”). If you’re using the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. What the Service does
WebsiteAuditTools is an automated website analysis tool. You provide a URL; we crawl that URL, run a battery of SEO, performance, and on-page checks, and return a report with findings and suggested fixes. We may add, change, or remove checks over time as best practices evolve.
3. Your account
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher) to create an account.
Accurate information
Give us a real name and a real email address. Don’t impersonate anyone or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or organization.
Account security
You’re responsible for safeguarding your password and for any activity that happens under your account. If you suspect your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
4. Acceptable use
You may use the Service to audit:
- Websites you own or control
- Websites you have explicit permission to audit (e.g. client sites, competitor research using publicly accessible URLs)
You may not use the Service to:
- Conduct denial-of-service or stress-testing attacks against any third party
- Crawl sites that explicitly prohibit it via
robots.txtin a way that violates that file’s instructions, except for the single URL you submit (we respectrobots.txton linked pages we discover) - Bypass or disable any rate limits, security features, or access controls of the Service
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise extract the Service’s source code, scoring logic, or proprietary data
- Resell or rebrand the Service without a written commercial agreement with us
- Submit URLs that contain malware, host illegal content, or violate applicable laws
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if we believe you’re violating this section.
5. Audit reports and your content
You own your audit reports. We use them to provide the Service to you, to display them in your dashboard, and (in anonymized, aggregated form) to improve our scoring engine. We will never publicly publish or sell a report that’s tied to your account.
Anonymous audits (those run without signing in) are tied to the IP address that submitted them and may be deleted on a rolling basis.
6. Free plan and paid plans
WebsiteAuditTools currently offers a free plan with rate-limited audits. Paid plans, if and when introduced, will have their own subscription terms presented at checkout. We may change the limits of the free plan at any time; we’ll give reasonable notice before reducing them materially for existing users.
7. Our intellectual property
The Service’s name, logo, design, scoring methodology, codebase, and report templates are our property. These Terms don’t grant you any license to those, except the limited right to view, share, and use the audit reports we generate for your sites.
8. Disclaimers — what we don’t promise
SEO is influenced by hundreds of variables. We provide a signal of what may be impacting your rankings, not a guarantee.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” We don’t warrant that running our recommended fixes will improve your search rankings, that the Service will be uninterrupted, or that reports are error-free. We disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost revenue, lost rankings, lost data, or business interruption arising from your use of the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) US $50.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claim arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights — including any claim that you audited a site without authorization.
11. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time by deleting your account. We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if we’re required to by law, or if continuing to provide the Service to you becomes commercially unreasonable. We’ll give you reasonable notice when we can.
On termination, your access to the Service ends. We may delete your audit history after a reasonable grace period.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we make a material change, we’ll notify you (via email or an in-app notice) at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which we operate, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer protection laws in your country.

Questions about these Terms? Email hello@websiteaudittools.com.
These Terms are intended to be a practical, plain-English agreement. They’re not legal advice. If you need a deeply specific contract (large enterprise, regulated industry, data-processing addendum), reach out and we’ll work through a custom agreement.
